      My message when attempting to download Photosmart Essential is "HP installer has stopped working" followed by "external atributes are not concistant". therefore, impossible to download program.This makes my new HP B8550 printer useless.

      try uninstalling any previous versions of hp photosmart essential and download the latest version Download HP Photosmart Essential 3.5 now! and then install, make sure you restart after uninstalling the previous version of photosmart essential

      I installed Photosmart Essentials v3.50 for my Windows XP home edition pc with SP3 installed, but it keeps crashing when I start the program.

      Event Viewer shows the following two errors:-
      1. Faulting application hpqpsapp.exe, version 120.0.110.11, faulting module msvcr80.dll, version 8.0.50727.1433, fault address 0x000149d1.
      2. Fault bucket 905349039.

      How do I get around this?

      This software is like "the Hotel California" - you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave! What I mean is, you photos and scans are STUCK in this software. No way to export them, move them to another folder, put them on a network server, etc. VERY sneaky of HP.

      Photosmart works great for photos, but have you ever tried getting help for avi videos? Forget it! HP doesn't even mention videos on any of its sites.

      Sorry I ever got involved with HP.

      I'm with Pete. I can no longer get the stupid program to open!!! It ALWAYS freezes, and I have over 2000 photos saved in the thing! I'm sick and tired of having to hit "ctrl alt del" to get the program to close. I have uninstalled it, and presume that I have lost my 2k photos. Thanks HP!!!

      SO does anyone have a fix for this program not opening? I used it a few times and it was great.
      Now it freezes up and won't do anything. I have also uninstalled, turned my computer off, reinstalled several times and still no luck. PLEASE HELP!!!

      You can email the photos to yourself from within the software and then view them and save them wherever you want from your email program.
