How To Fix mhotspot has Stopped Working Error Windows 7

I was trying to get my pc internet shared to my xperia android device, the two options i shortlisted was mHotspot and connectify, as connectify being limited and requires a purchase, i thought to give a try of mHotspot which seems to be free.

The installation of mHotspot was successful but i couldn't launch the application, it immediately crashed upon opening stating that "mHotspot had stopped working and needs to close.





I followed the instructions posted on mHostspot knowledgebase to enable Microsoft .net framework 3.5, but still the crash continued,

Here is how i got mHotspot working without crashing on windows 7 PC

I saw that my windows firewall service is under disabled mode.This is the main reason for the mHotspot to crash, i went ahead and enabled the windows firewall through services.msc and started the firewall service and and launched mHotspot





mhotspot launched successfully on windows 7 without crashing.

This is my analysis about the crash.

When windows firewall service is under disabled mode, the Internet connection sharing is not possible, if you got to a lan adapter properties and try to enable the ICS, it would throw the following error, as mHotspot is based out of ICS, its causing the application to crash.

cannot enable shared access Error:0x80004005: unspecified error




So..simply

enable the firewall and start the windows firewall service through run--Services.msc and Windows Firewall.

Resolve Fatal Error: MSI Destinations For HP Printers

Fatal Error: MSI destinations this is most typical error that you encounter while installing a HP Product on your PC, this error is observed for HP All-In-One Products during their installation phase.If this error is something related to Invalid Drive C:\ then you have a differently named drive other than C, where the HP Software is trying to locate the C drive for extracting and installation of the required files, if some thing that is not related to invalid drive, then you can try the below steps to resolve the issue.

Pr-checks:-
  • Make sure you have the administrative rights to install the software,
  • Clear the Temp folder
  • In the Run Window, type %temp% and hit enter, this will bring the temp files of your profile, clean them up completely.
  • Strongly recommend to reboot your system and then run the HP Software and Driver Removal utility.
  • If you are not using any other hp products, try cleaning all the hp folders from the Program files and the Program Data Directory under C Drive

Logging as the administrator and try installing the software by downloading it from HP Support and Drivers Website, make sure you run the setup file from the location of the sub directory under your drive, Eg: put the downloaded file in C:\Personal\...exe and run this exe as administrator if you are using windows 7.

Xperia Z 10.1.1.A.1.253 Update Fixes Wifi Issue

Sony Rolled out new firmware 10.1.1.A.1.253 4.1.2 Jelly bean update to Xperia Z Devices today.
This update is compatible for both Xperia Z C6603 and C6602 devices.

Majorly This Update Fixed the frequent dropping of WiFi connectivity and made improvements when it comes to performance and stability of Xperia Z when compared to the stock version of the jelly bean.



Just went through the upgrade of 10.1.1.A.1.253 through PC Companion, it was successful.
I saw few members reporting the failed boot up of Xperia Z or Xperia Z just dont start up after 10.1.1.A.1.253 update through PC Companion, do not panic!

Fix for HPSF.exe has Stopped Working Error Message

HPSF.exe has stopped working. This application has encountered a serious problem and must close, this seems to be the most common error if you are using any HP Device, and it assures a HP Software is installed on your Desktop or HP Laptop or notebook and in windows 7 operating system.

Critical Update For HP Missing Scanned Files (Save To File)

HP Released a Critical Update/ Patch to fix the missing scanned files Issue. This Critical Update Corrects a scan file configuration problem which causes scan files to be sent to a nonexistent folder and When scanning with HP Solution Center, you can scan a photo , picture or a document, but HP Solution Center does not save the scan to your designated folder.

This issue could probably occur When scanning after installing or upgrading your current HP Solution Center to version 13, scanning appears to complete correctly, but amazingly, scanned images or documents cannot be found on the computer on the give save location.

The root cause of the problem seems to be improper install of the files to the directory while installing/updating to HP Solution Center 13.

Intel DG35EC Issue Resuming From Standby Bios Fix

Intel recently released ECG3510M.86A. 0118 bios version for DG35EC mother board, updating to this bios version helped me fix two major issue that i have been facing since i bought this mother board.

The first and foremost issue, Fixed unexpected behavior in resume from standby, when the PC goes to stand by mode, it never resumes, the only way to get back is to restart the PC, thanks to Intel For Providing a Fix through Bios Update ECG3510M.86A.0118

Secondly, My PC is equipped with all digital connections right from Coaxial ,Optical, HDMI, DVI, Digital Media Port, Display Port(DP) connector and what not! When you use Internal Intel SPDIF through Coaxial out, you might experience SPDIF connection going into sleep mode after few hours of Audio Play with Intel DG35EC.

After this bios update, the SPDIF sleep mode issue is no more. I recommend all the Intel DG35EC mother board user to upgrade their BIOS version to the latest available ECG3510M.86A.0118(Release Dated on January 13 2010), you can download the latest bios version Here

Fix For Missing Scanned Files With HP Solution Center

Would like to give a quick update on missing scanned files Issue when scanning through HP solution Center 13.0 or later versions. When you finish the scan through HP Solution Center 13 , the scanned file is not available in the destination folder, HP solution center, does not save the file in the destination folder, most commonly "My Scans"folder even though HP Sends them to the destination folder.

HP Released a patch to fix the Disappearing And Missing Scans Issues, you can Download the HP Missing Scan Patch Here. As per HP the fix resolves the following scenario.

File Name : CPEScanPatch_hpcom_000_001.exe
When scanning with HP Solution Center, you can scan a photo or a document, but HP Solution Center does not save the scan to your designated folder. The Scan button on the product’s control panel might not operate correctly. This issue occurs in Windows 7, or when using a version 13 print driver in Windows XP or Vista.

The cause of the issue seems to be "When installing or upgrading to HP Solution Center version 13, files do not install correctly" . This scenario is also seen after upgrading to windows 7 from windows vista operating system.

HP Solution Center Patch For Windows 7 To Fix Product Scan And Status Issues

HP Released a patch which resolves HP Solution Center Scan and Product Status Issues After Upgrading Windows Vista to Windows 7.HP Solution Center version 13 or higher includes updates that resolve the below issues . Click here to check ,If version 13 or higher is available for your product, download and install the new software if available.
  • You cannot scan from HP Solution Center using HP Twain Scan.
  • When you try to scan from the front panel of the product, No Scan Options displays on the control panel.
  • When you open the Product Toolbox in HP Solution Center, the following error displays in the window.
    The computer is unable to establish two-way communication with the device.
  • When you click the Estimated Ink Levels tab in the Product Toolbox , the following message displays in the window.
    The computer is unable to establish two-way communication with the device.
  • You installed the product, but the status is disconnected in HP Solution Center. The following message displays in the window.

    hpqgpc01.exe - Application Error While PC ShutDown

    hpqgpc01.exe - Application Error : The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000005) occurred in the application at location 0x76bdbe16 you might face a similar error when shutting down your PC or turning off your laptop with windows vista 64-bit operating system installed.

    You might get the hpqgpc01.exe - Application Error when the printer is turned off , many of the users including my colleague reported that there is no error when the printer is turned on.

    The following is the workaround that is suggested by HP Support Forums Users to fix the issue, you can try your luck! I will keep you updated if hp releases a ptach or fix for the issue.

    1) Insert Your Printer Driver Disc
    2) Click Start-->Run
    3) Type Control Printers and hit enter to bring the printers and faxes window
    4) Right click on your HP Printer and click on properties
    5) Click On sharing Tab
    6) Click on Change Sharing Options. Click On Continue
    7) Go To Drivers and click on additional drivers
    For you information x64 represent 64 bit drivers and x86 is the 32 bit drivers
    8) Keep the x64-bit alone and click on x86-bit
    9) Close the program and restart the computer to get the changes effected.

    HP Released Blue Tint Patch for HP Scanning Software For HP Scanjet 8270 Document Flatbed Scanner, i think i need to say HP Scanjet 82xx Scanner series.

    This patch fixes an issue where a blue or grey tint is seen in the background of documents scanned in color from the glass or Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) using HP Photosmart Software 9.0.

    HP CUE Device Discovery Service HPQDDSVC Hangs

    HP CUE Device Discovery Service HPQDDSVC error pops up after starting windows and might cause your system to hang up. At times your Hp printer might also disappear from the printer folder in windows vista and also you can see a recurring installation of the hardware. I assume HPQDDSVC is the service to detect the hp devices and configure the detected devices to the HP Solution Center.

    As a temporary workaround for HP CUE Device Discovery Service HPQDDSVC error, you can try disabling the service from the services window. Follow the below steps to disable the HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service HPQDDSVC service.

    Click on Start--->Run(in case of vista type services.msc in search above the start)
    Type Services.msc in Run
    Windows Service will open
    Find the HP CUE Device Discovery Service
    Right-click on HP CUE Device Discovery Service and click Properties.
    In the Next window
    For Startup type select Disabled.
    Click Apply then close the Window.
    Restart your computer.

    5. For the same thumbnail (PreviewPath is the same), TVAgent does not re-download the file.

    6. When MSTV is closed, MSTV asks TVAgent to stop downloading. (TVAgent finishes the current ongoing task, and then stops until MSTV is alive again.) TVAgent does not download anything when MSTV is not running.

    Error in "hpcmpmgr.exe" Will Not Allow to Shut Down your Computer

    Unable to Shut Off the Computer Due to an Error in "hpcmpmgr.exe" if you encounter this error you might be using any of the hp software or HP Photosmart Printers, scanners, Deskjet, and All-in-One printers.

    When attempting to shut down the computer, a Microsoft error report dialog box is display. Upon submitting this error to Microsoft, it may be identified by Microsoft that this situation is caused by Hewlett-Packard's hpcmpmgr.exe file.
