How To Check Your HP Product Warranty Status

HP Launched Consumer Support Page to check the Warranty Status of the HP Products. If you would like to check the warranty status, all you need is the Serial No and the Product Number of your HP Product


Usually The S/N and P/N numbers can be viewed on label of bar code of the product which is presented on the bottom /side of the product.

The Serial Number (s/n) is a ten-digit alpha-numeric number that is unique to your product.
The Product Number (p/n) is a six or seven-digit alpha-numeric number that identifies your product. as shown below.




If you are unsure to find the Product and Serial Number,then use the Automatic product detection and warranty check tool, this will install a small application which automatically detects your HP Products and display the Warranty Information.

Seagate Fix All Option Saved Hard Disk From Crashing

Exploring Seagate tools for Windows saved my Hard Drive from crashing and loosing all the data(though it backed it up).About last 15 days I was concerned with My Seagate Hard Drive Model: ST3500418AS, Seagate tools Basic Tests reported ShortDST-Fail error on my Hard Drive.Following is the part of the Error log.

Further, Seagate asked to run SeaToolsDOS223ALL(Seatools for DOS) which might fix the bad sectors on the drives or asked to return the disk to get a new replacement disk.Thought of giving (Seatools for DOS) a shot, burned the ISO image and started sea tools for windows through DOS, after My drive got detected , I am unable select the drive and perform the tests, Seatools For Dos, just hanged on me and unable to perform any actions and i thought of returning the drive for replacement 




Today morning, just before publishing this post, I had a Self test of the Drive again through Seatools For Windows, ShortDST Failed Again, I saw a option Called Fix All Fast, Fix All Long Option and went through Fix All Short, the Fix All Was successful! Curiously went and ran the Short DST again, Voila..Its unbelievable the Short DST Passed this time , I think the Seagate Fix All Option Fixed all the Bad sectors on My drive and saved the drive from crashing.

I Used the version Sea Tools for Windows version 1.2.0.6, Model: ST3500418AS, Firmware Updated to CC49.

Hope you run the Fix All Fast, Fix All Long Options through seagate windows tolls if run through test drive failures.

HP Officejet K550 Black Ink Failure

HP Officejet Pro K550 will not print Black Colour, HP Officjet K550 Black Ink Failure.OfficeJet Pro k550 series black out issue.

HP Officejet K550 does not print black ink though the printer and the print heads and catridges are new.this could occur due to several reasons. Follow the below troubleshooting steps to find the exact problem.

please follow the below sequence of troubleshooting steps:

** Print a 10-tap test to check the print quality.

Perform the below steps to to print a 10-tap Test and check whether the black grid is printed on the page or not.

1. Press and Hold the Power button.
2. Press X button once,
3. Release Power button.

If the is no black grid in the test page, follow the below steps to clean the printheads internally using 6-tap test.

6 Tap Test:

Follow the steps below to perform the cleaning of print heads:

1. Hold down the Power button.
2. Press the Resume button 6 times.
3. Release the Power button. The printer performs a cleaning routine that takes several minutes and makes a clicking or tapping noise. The procedure uses about 0.11 cc of black and yellow ink and 0.08 cc of magenta and cyan ink.
4. Printer will make some noises when you perform 6-tap test. Ask the customer to print a 10-test once the noises are stopped and check whether the black grid printed or not.

If there is no black grid, share the below link to customer to clean the printheads manually.

Once you are done with manual cleaning try to print a 10-tap test and check for black grid.

If the issue persists...

Alternatively, you can get your print heads replaced if in warranty, Contact HP Customer Care.

If you Are using Vista Check your printer warranty and get it replaced
