Windows 2003 Drivers for HP Scanjet Scanners.

Yes, Hp scanners are compatible with windows 2003, however you can only do a basic scanner with the alternate drivers installed.

HP Scanjet scanners are not compatible with Windows 2003 Server. However, the only way is to use the scanner In Windows 2003, is from the WIA service feature. In Windows 2003, WIA service feature will be turned off.

To make the scanner work with WIA feature, WIA service has to be turned On with out connecting the scanner to computer.

To make the scanner work with WIA feature, WIA service has to be turned On.

Turn on the WIA feature, by following the following the steps.

1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel
2. Double-click Administrative tools
3. Click Services
4. Double-click Windows Image Acquisition from the list
5. Under Startup Type, Select "Automatic"
6. Under Service Status, Click Start.
7. Restart the computer and connect the scanner

NOTE: You can get the services window from Run. Click Start, Run Type Services.msc Click OK.

After turning on WIA Service in Windows 2003, have the installation CD in the drive, browse to the installation CD...connect the scanner when prompted for the drivers. The required drivers will be picked by the installation wizard automatically. Now, you can use the WIA feature to use the scanner or other third party software.

However, if you do not have the have the installation disc then you need to download windows 2000 drivers and install them.
